Madonna's press conference for W.E. at this year TIFF Toronto International Film Festival ended a few minutes ago.
If you missed it, you can watch it again later at this url: http://www.domeproductions.com/archivelist.html.
As we announced here, Madonna is in Toronto with Abbie Cornish and Andrea Riseborough.
During the press conference, Madonna said she has no problem with critics panning W.E., but she wants them to judge the movie not her life. In fact, she thinks - and she is not the only one! - that some reviews have focused on her and her personal life, rather than on the film itself.
Thanks to Kevin Young.
Madonna's manager Guy Oseary twetted this ironic video about 30 minutes ago.
"You have no idea how many nights I have lost thinking how I hurt you," thinks Madonna in the video. Can you imagine who is Madonna thinking about? Do you want some more clues?
"Words cannot express how sorry I am," adds Madonna. "To think I have caused you pain. My heart is going to burst with sadness. I need to know in time you may forgive me."
No, she is not talking about a men... Look closer to the video, Madonna is caressing and crying for hydrangeas.
And Madonna ironically goes on... "If I could take back my words I would but I can't, so what am I left with?"
And suddenly, Madonna ends up with "I'm left with the fact I still hate hydrangeas! And I will always hate them!" Then she starts treading on them.
"It's a free country," Madonna ends. "So f*ck you I like roses!!"
Let's face it: Madonna has a great sense of humour!
That Canadians love Madonna has never been a secret! But the fan-meter is going very high in these latest hours of anticipation. We can also see it from our statistics.
Lately, visits to DrownedMadonna.com from Canada have exponentially grown, and in the last two days Canada became the country with the higher amount of visits.
We are sure that Canadians are going into ecstasies when Madonna will do the press release and, most of all, when she will be on the red carpet later today.
Canadian newspaper National Post is ready to bet that Wallis Simpson image, revived by Madonna with her second directoral fatigue W.E., will be the latest fashion trend. Madonna herself is already into it, as we saw in Venice for the Film Festival, and we will see more today in Toronto in a few hours, first on the press release and then on the gala screening. "It will be style," says the National Post.
Italian fashion stylist Valentino, one of the biggest names in the industry, feels the same as well. He was impressed by the work Madonna and Arianne Phillips have done.
The National Post writes that "influential fashion insiders agree that stylist and costumer Arianne Phillips' work is not to be missed."
The Canadian paper also describes in detail Madonna's look for the world premiere of W.E. in Venice. "Madonna wore a beautifully draped gown laden with Simpson symbolism," they comment. The whole outfit is Vionnet, "one of Simpson's favoured couture houses," the National Post adds. "It's also in the distinctive shade of 'Wallis blue' that the Duchess's other long-time designer Mainbocher reserved exclusively for her wardrobe."
"Next, it's scattered with appliqué butterflies made of hundreds of tiny red seed beads. The butterflies were an important motif for the surrealists and in particular, Elsa Schiaparelli borrowed the idea from Man Ray's transfer prints to create a silk chiffon fabric that became a dress the Duchess famously wore in her engagement photo shoot for Vogue."
In the end, the National Post thinks that American Vogue "could very well have an exclusive style special in the works for the film's December release."
Latest RUMOURS say that Madonna is now in Toronto. There is no confirmation to these info.
Anyway, we prefer not to mention the rumoured hotel.
Noel Gallagher, whose High Flying Birds' debut album is out next month, confessed to the Evening Standard Magazine that his favourite restaurant in London is Italian restaurant Locanda Locatelli, which is the one Madonna love the most.
"There are Italian people in the kitchen, and there's the chance you might see Madonna," said Noel.
The Thai commercial for the Madonna & Smirnoff Dance Competition is different and 'go local.' It will be broadcast also in other countries.
And here is the translated original version...
Tickets for the screening gala of Madonna's W.E. at this year's TIFF Toronto International Film Festival are SOLD OUT.
Tickets went on sale at TIFF box office at 7:00AM. People lined up outside for up to 24 hours before! Around dinner it started raining, but this didn't discourage Canadian passionate fans. Around 5:00AM queueing people were allowed inside and down to the concourse level, 10 at a time.
Downstairs two lines were going to be formed: one for TIFF members, and one for the general public. Tickets have been sold to TIFF members first, but the general public didn't have to wait until all of the members had been processed.
Shortly every ticket had sold out.
The sale online started at 7:00AM. TIFF servers reportedly crashed due to the amount of requests.
No doubt. Madonna is Madonna... and Canadian fans are very passionate with her!
